Colours of the rainbow

In Ireland we get a lot of rain! After the rainfall we might see a colourful rainbow in the sky. We discussed weather, seasons, rainfall and rainbows and we learned about the seven colours of the rainbow. We used these colours to create a rainbow using crepe paper and don't they look lovely?!

Travel Week '17

Well done to all the boys and girls and to all the parents who helped out with carpooling over the past numbers of weeks and thank you to those who are continuing to carpool. We had great fun and learned a lot about the importance of carpooling during this week. Quizes and competitions were held throughout the week and well done to the winners from Rang a hAon; Ben Hegarty, Oisín Murphy and Maggie O' Keeffe.

Place Value

Learning about different numbers and their value was lots of fun.

We now know about tens and units and we are very good at making numbers using our tens and units.

Money

We recently began learning about money; the different coins we use, we made coin rubbings, we played shop, we learned about giving change, all using real coins. We had great fun.

Valentines Love Bugs

Love was in the air recently as Rang a hAon manipulated and experimented with clay to create Valentines love bugs. How cute are these.

Spring flowers

Spring is in the air here in Ballinora. Just take a look at these beautiful, colourful spring flowers. Made over two weeks these spring flowers consisting of daffodils and tulips were made from egg cartons and the children used their painting and printing skills to create beautiful pieces of art. Benny the elf.

See the many adventures of Benny the elf in the lead up to Christmas. Benny cast a watchful eye over all of Rang 1, ensuring we were all working hard and trying our best as Benny reported back to Santa Claus every night. We loved having Benny in our classroom. He was quite a cheeky little elf but we loved him very much. Take a look.
